This project focused on automating processes in a Chilean logistics company using Microsoft Power Platform to enhance efficiency in document management and digitalization. The company faced challenges with manual document handling, leading to inefficiencies and errors. The implementation of Microsoft’s solution aimed to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual labor. Power Automate was used to streamline workflows, including scanning, classification, and storage of documents. Scanned documents from Xerox printers were automatically uploaded to OneDrive, where Power Automate converted images to text, classified them, and stored them in digital repositories. This automation improved accuracy and speed, reducing the required workforce from 20-25 employees to 2-3. The project also involved designing logical and physical architectures to support the new processes. The logical architecture outlined workflow and data flow between systems, while the physical architecture detailed the necessary hardware and network infrastructure. These technologies enhanced document retrieval and auditing capabilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and significantly reducing the time to find and audit documents to less than 10 minutes. This project demonstrates the transformative impact of business process automation on operational efficiency in the logistics sector.
