This research titled: “Evaluation of existing emergency housing; safe and fast construction for populations affected by natural disasters in Huasahuasi district, Tarma province, Junin department“, had the general objective of evaluating the types of existing and rapidly constructed housing, as part of a contingency plan against natural disasters in Tarma province, Huasahuasi district. This research used a qualitative and quantitative methodology. For data collection, different scientific articles were used to identify the main materials used in emergency housing; the cost, comfort conditions, type of materials, and size of the housing were also evaluated and calculated. Likewise, this research was worked with four types of materials, which are: Tongue and groove wood, Fiber cement, Containers and EMMEDUE system. The results obtained were validated through an expert judgment by professionals with experience in the construction field, where in total 77% of those surveyed indicated that the most economical and viable homes to install in Huasahuasi district are those of Tongue-and-groove wood and fiber cement. Therefore, it is concluded and suggested to implement emergency housing that meets the structural, climatic and economic conditions needed by the population, as part of a contingency plan for natural disasters in Tarma province, Huasahuasi district.
