This work develops the implementation of a satellite network for the remote control and telemetry of three electrical substations and four hydroelectric power plants located in difficult access sites, which need to be connected to the SCADA system of the operations center located in the Chiclayo region. Initially, an analysis of the incidence of precipitation at the points that make up the network, as well as the bandwidth required by the user area, was performed. This analysis led to the selection of the C band due to its robustness to precipitation. In addition, TDMA technology was chosen, which is commonly used in low traffic links, such as SCADA and ATM services. It was decided to implement a star topology, which is ideal for point-to-multipoint links. Finally, the IS-14 geostationary satellite was selected for its C-band operation and its highly efficient satellite footprint at the installation points. The complete system consists of a set of VSAT stations that share the same carrier and send data to a satellite hub through a transponder that acts as a repeater. The data received by the satellite hub is sent to the operations center where it will be received by the SCADA system. After implementation, it was verified that all electrical substations and hydroelectric power plants were able to establish communication with the operations center. A delay of less than 750 ms and a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of more than 13.5 dB were maintained. This result guarantees a secure and constant transmission of data, resistant to weather changes.
