The objective of this work is to determine the technical and economic evaluation for the reinforcement of lightened slabs in the face of changes of use in dwellings of the socioeconomic sector of level D by applying three polymer fibers (carbon, glass and aramid). This project is an explanatory and descriptive study because it is responsible for demonstrating why the use of polymer fiber is convenient as a reinforcement alternative in lightened slabs with resistance problems; In addition, evaluations will be conducted from an economic point of view of the reinforcement methods in the lightened slabs. This research model was conducted in a three-story house in which, faced with a change of use due to economic issues, it decided to change the type of initial function that the house had, affecting the lightened slab under study. For the technical part, the program used to define the amount of reinforcement by means of mathematical models to be applied to the lightened slab was ETABS, and for the economic part, unit price analysis was conducted, considering certain taxes to be considered for the transport and use of the polymer fibers that were used. The results obtained show a need to reinforce the lightened slab in the event of a change of use; In addition, the costs of applying reinforcement were compared to determine the most economical fiber for this type of housing located in the economic sector under study.
