The purpose of this research work is to develop an analysis taking into consideration the data collected from a company in the metalworking sector, to increase the efficiency in the pressure cooker production line. It is in the turning process where a series of internal problems were identified that currently affect the line of pressure cookers since this product is the one that generates the highest profits and is in greatest demand. The main problem found in the low efficiency in the production line. This would occur due to unplanned stops in the turning area and high set-up times. This problem causes the company to lose 14.62% of the profits that it can allocate to its main product. For this reason, the implementation of the SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tools has been proposed, of the latter methodology the following pillars are considered: (1) Planned Maintenance and (2) Autonomous Maintenance. In this way, it is intended to reduce unforeseen stops in the turning area and reduce preparation times. In the end, the data before the investigation and after the implementation of the improvement of the turning process will be analyzed.
