In the following professional sufficiency work, a slope stability analysis was carried out using the Erdox system in the San Mateo de Huanchor area. Historical data revealed soil mass movements affecting the safety of the nearby population, both economically and in terms of lives. The aim was to analyze the impact and variation in the safety factor of applying the Erdox system as a containment measure on the Pucruchacra hill (the study slope). This innovative Erdox system, used in few regions of the country, consists of a lightweight metal structure anchored by a concrete base, providing high efficiency due to its easy handling, low cost, and short installation time compared to other conventional concrete containment methods. Therefore, the proposal is to use this rarely used method in Peru to shed light on new systems offering broad benefits and gradually phase out conventional containment systems. To reach the analysis results of this research, a sequence of steps was taken to demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of this system. First, visits to the site were conducted for analysis and application of this innovative system. Descriptive information about the area was collected, and soil samples were obtained for direct shear and standard Proctor tests. With the laboratory test results, analysis was carried out using Slide software to model with previously obtained characteristics. As the initial analysis, the natural slope was examined without the Erdox system, yielding deficient safety factor values below the national standard, which are unfavorable for slope stability. This explains various landslides that have obstructed the central highway and affected residents' homes, leading to multiple accidents and delays. Subsequently, the slope was analyzed with the Erdox system, yielding positive static and pseudo-static analysis values of 4.5 and 15 respectively for the safety factor. These results demonstrate the favorability and viability of applying the Erdox system in the future for unstable slopes due to the significant advantages it offers.
