The following investigation exposes the style of director Julio Medem to narrate the love story of the film Lovers of the Arctic Circle. The methodology that has been used corresponds to a qualitative case study since four elements of style are identified in the audiovisual piece. The general objective is to identify the narrative style of the director in question when telling the story of this film. The specific objectives correspond to the identification of the characteristics of the character profiles of the protagonists, describe the use of the narrator and the point of view, describe the use of space, and describe the use of time as a narrative style, as well. On the other hand, the interview, content analysis and documentary analysis have been used as research techniques. Finally, the sample is the film Lovers of the Polar Circle. In this sense, it can be affirmed that Julio Medem creates opposite personalities at the time of elaborating the profiles of his protagonists, making them evolve throughout history. Also, a narration has been found as an interior monologue on the part of the main characters, who adopt an independent point of view. In addition, it has been possible to identify the use of the landscape as other main element; as well as the use of props and color parallels to create the narrative space. Finally, a non-linear montage could be recognized, achieved by ellipsis, flashbacks and uchronia.
