During the last few decades, the construction industry has increasingly relied on 3D models to improve visualization and understanding of the scope of each project. Additionally, technological advancements have opened endless possibilities for process automation, progress management, among others. However, in the national context, there is notable resistance to change. In this work, a procedure for the automation of quantity takeoffs is carried out using Dynamo in a Revit model of a multifamily building with one (1) basement, five (5) floors, and one (1) rooftop. The proposal was developed using visual programming to obtain values for concrete volume, kilograms of steel, and square meters of formwork for reinforced concrete elements in the bidding stage. In this phase, it has been identified that as civil engineering evolves, projects become more challenging, requiring technical-economic proposals to be presented with greater precision and detail in the same or less time. The results showed a significant improvement in the quantification of formwork in reinforced concrete elements by 5.54% compared to the error margin of manual material quantification versus the actual amount required on-site. Additionally, the greatest improvement offered by this procedure is the optimization of the time required to obtain formwork values, as it is a fully automated process that can be applied to various projects that have a BIM model of the structural specialty in concrete volume.
