This study aims to determine the relationship between work stress and work motivation in administrative workers between 20 and 60 years old who perform remote work in Metropolitan Lima in the context of the pandemic. Likewise, compare work stress and work motivation scores according to sex and the increase in workload due to the pandemic. The research has a correlational design and the Work Stress Scale and Work Motivation Scale (R-MAWS) was used. The results reveal that there is a positive and direct relationship between Work Stress and the Demotivation (p < .01) and External Regulation (p < .001) dimensions of Work Motivation. In relation to the specific objectives, there are significant differences according to sex (Demotivation and Superiors and Resources; p < .05 and Te < .30) and according to the increase in workload (Organization and work team, Superiors and resources, Demotivation, External Regulation and Introjected Regulation; p < .05 and Te < .40). In conclusion, remote work modified organizational dynamics, which has generated greater work stress and demotivation in employees in a context of uncertainty due to the pandemic. Likewise, the difference in job opportunities according to sex has led to women being more demotivated than men. Finally, the psychosocial and present factors of remote work have increased the workload.
