The objective of the following investigation is to explain the integration of digital resources and environmental graphics in a transmedia strategy as part of the museographic narrative of the Sistema Nacional de Museos del Estado in Lima. The proposed hypothesis suggests that if digital resources are integrated with environmental graphics in a transmedia strategy as part of museography, in the museums of the Sistema Nacional de Museos del Estado in Lima, then a participatory culture will be fostered that transcends the physical space of the exhibits. To corroborate it, a qualitative ethnographic study method with a descriptive scope was used, in which an objective visual analysis of graphic and interactive resources was carried out, as well as the way in which museum visitors interact with them. The museums studied were the Museo Nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú; the Lugar de la Memoria, la Tolerancia y la Inclusión Social; and the Museo de Arte de Lima. Among the main results, it was found that the digitalization of the contents does not certainly farther participation in the virtual space. Furthermore, in the physical environment, users look for different stimuli to interact with and these do not necessarily come from a screen. It is concluded that there is an incipient participatory culture that transcends the physical space of museographic exhibitions that depends exclusively on integrating digital resources and environmental graphics according to a coherent transmedia narrative.
