In contemporary society, the relationship between social mobilizations and media is crucial, as it influences public opinion, political and social decisions. This study aims to analyze the critical discourse generated during the protests of January 2023, through the reports broadcast on Sundays on open television from the programs “Punto Final” and “Cuarto Poder”, which are part of the main national television channels “América TV” and “Latina TV”. Critical Discourse Analysis will be used to understand how language can maintain or challenge power dynamics. The methodology is supported by an audiovisual content analysis matrix adapted to the Effective Audiovisual Information Construction Model (MOCIAE). This tool allowed the sample to be examined at a technical level. The data obtained allowed us to identify the frames and audiovisual resources used in the selected newscasts. The results revealed that television reports, in "Punto Final" and "Cuarto Poder", presented the mobilizations as violent events, biasing public perception and limiting the diversity of perspectives by prioritizing testimonies from law enforcement and affected people. This study highlights the influence of the media on public opinion and the need for more balanced and diverse coverage.
