The study addressed the objective of evaluating the perception of the factors that contribute to staff turnover. The research was basic, quantitative, using a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population of interest included all operators in the production area, and a census sample was chosen, surveying 100 operators selected in a representative manner. The main instrument used was a questionnaire that evaluated different aspects related to staff rotation, remuneration, staff competence and working conditions. The reliability of the instruments was confirmed by acceptable values: 0.714 for perception of staff turnover, 0.765 for remuneration, 0.870 for staff competence and 0.760 for perception of working conditions. The findings on staff turnover are perceived by 66% as in agreement. Remuneration 48% with neutral responses. However, the majority (62%) perceive that the staff is competent, indicating adequate skills. Regarding working conditions, 46% expressed neutral opinions. In the conclusions, a significant impact of 37.1% of the factors on high turnover is perceived. Perception of staff competence (p = 0.000) and working conditions (p = 0.002) were identified as significant. In contrast, perception of remuneration (p = 0.264), age (p = 0.061), sex (p = 0.477) and time in the company (p = 0.084) lack significant and influential effects.
