The research work consists of how to maintain costs and deadlines in rural basic sanitation works, because this type of works currently has many additional and deadline extensions which make it difficult for the works to be put into the operation phase. and maintenance by users and generating great loss of utility for the companies that execute it. For this analysis, the work: Expansion and improvement of comprehensive basic sanitation services in the Community of Ccotaña, District of Tupac Amaru - Canas - Cusco, which was executed by the San Roque Consortium, was taken as a case study. Initially, the work was executed by the traditional construction method, for which on-site performance was taken to compare it with performance from the technical file, CAPECO performance. As a result of this analysis, we were able to verify that the work was not going to be completed within the deadline. established due to lack of planning and control in the execution of the items with the highest incidence of the project. Halfway through the execution of the work, it was proposed to use the last planner system, obtaining fewer man hours in the execution of the items with the highest incidence of the project, which demonstrated that using the lean construction methodology there are improvements in performance by which we can maintain costs and deadlines in basic rural sanitation works.
