This study delves into the examination of body image perception among male adolescents in the Lima Metropolitan area. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, an in depth semi-structured interview served as the primary method for data collection. Six male teenagers aged between 15 and 17 participated in the study. The findings were categorized into four themes that elucidate the participants perspectives on their body image. The research revealed that the perception of body image is shaped by the representation of masculinity, the influence of social media and the dynamics of exclusion. Furthermore, the perceived body image is explained through the social perception of body image, the boundaries of the body, and the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors concerning the body. In conclusion, it is established that the construction of male body image is influenced by societal stereotypes propagated through social media, significantly impacting how teenagers perceive their bodies.
