The objective of the study is to propose an occupational health and safety management system for environmental liability remediation processes in an underground mine in the southern region of the country, applying a evaluative matrix. The methodology used includes the identification of risks and hazards through a risk map and an IPERC matrix, the design of a matrix to evaluate mine closure activities during the regime, and the establishment of critical controls in these activities. The results indicate that the implementation of the risk map and the IPERC matrix are fundamental in the mine closure process, allowing for the comprehensive and systematic identification and management of associated hazards. Specific risks such as exposure to chemicals and structural collapse are highlighted, requiring special attention to ensure the safety of workers and the protection of the environment. The proposed matrix for evaluating mine closure activities is based on a comprehensive risk assessment, contributing to more effective management and proper allocation of resources to mitigate them. Likewise, the applied control determination matrix emphasizes the implementation of measures to mitigate risks and the importance of ongoing attention to areas for improvement. In conclusion, the implementation of the occupational health and safety management system has allowed for a comprehensive assessment of weaknesses and opportunities for improvement, validating the hypothesis. The effectiveness of tools such as the risk map and the IPERC matrix in managing specific hazards is highlighted, promoting a safe and healthy work environment, and contributing to the success of the environmental remediation project.
