Introduction: Sex workers are a vulnerable population excluded from health services that have been discriminated and stigmatized for many years, due to different perceptions in relation to their work leaving them aside without access to public health. The objective of this research was to explore the experiences and perceptions of COVID-19 self-care among sex workers in an association in Lima, Peru during the 2022 pandemic. Methodology: A qualitative study was conducted with a phenomenological approach and in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 29 members and 3 focus groups. The in-depth interview was used as a tool for data collection, double coding was done and the Colaizzi method was used for their respective analysis. In addition, the Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQR) was used for reporting, analysis and defining the structure for the presentation of this qualitative research. Results: It was found that sex workers have different types of self-care due to the experiences and perceptions they have had during the COVID-19 pandemic and the little information they received from the relevant entities, especially from the health sector who neglect this vulnerable population. Conclusion: It has been evidenced during the COVID - 19 pandemic that sex workers did not have an official self-care protocol to avoid this disease. Therefore, it is necessary to have a health program aimed at this vulnerable population.
