The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between perception of body image and addiction to social networks in 200 female university students, between the ages of 18 and 25 years (M=55.1; SD=20.0). Furthermore, the design used in the research was simple correlational and the type of sample is not probabilistic. To measure the variables, two instruments were used, the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) and the Social Network Addiction Questionnaire (CARS). The results of the study present a significant positive relationship between addiction to social networks and the perception of body image, where the value of p and r is < .05. That is to say, the population of young university students are persuaded by social networks, unfavorably influencing their appreciation of their own image. The aforementioned shows that the greater the use of social networks, the greater the perception of one's personal image.
