The following thesis is based on the investigation of different scenarios to obtain an optimal traffic flow, present at the intersection, located in the district of San Luis, Department of Lima-Peru. The research makes comparison to the different scenarios in which the intersection can be involved in different solutions. The tool for microscopic modeling that is simulated in the Vissim 9.0 software is used. The elaboration of the model consists of making a previous analysis, which includes from data collection to processing in the office, taking the data of geometric measurements on Friday where the vehicular volume is more crowded. Next, with the model obtained, we start to modify different scenarios, making the corresponding changes according to the requirement of the proposal, making multiple runs until obtaining the improvement of the previous model. Finally, the most feasible design is analyzed and chosen based on the parameters obtained, such as the time required for the car to cross the intersection, the length of the tail, among others. The project seeks to improve the intersection, where currently there is chaos and traffic congestion due to the greater amount of traffic flow. Consequently, the results of both the current situation and the chosen proposal are compared, showing the percentage of reduction for the traffic congestion problem.
