In Peru there is a gradual abandonment of cultural heritage such as adobe churches where the biggest problem is the low mechanical resistance of the walls. This is because its composition of simple elements does not contribute to better mechanical behavior of the material itself and when construction techniques do not use reinforcements. For this reason, walls collapse easily in the face of natural phenomena, even more so when it is a seismic country with various climatic changes. Due to the above, this research project aims to propose a reinforcement proposal to improve the mechanical resistance of the main altar of the San Juan Bautista church, located in the province of Huaral, through the application of biaxial junco geogrid tested on walls of adobe. The methodology to be used is experimental since it is required to have real data through laboratory tests. Likewise, the research design is documentary, research articles are presented that indicate a favorable variation in the mechanical resistance of buildings that do not have any reinforcement. Finally, the development of the research provides the expected results between the comparison of walls without and with reinforcement, which indicate that the resistance of the elaborate adobe complies with the E080 standard, the junco geogrid increases the resistance to compression and traction by a 11.3% and 11% respectively, and according to the results obtained from SAP2000, the displacement of the reinforced wall is reduced by 30.4%.
