Oil and gas exploration and extraction operations in Peru are in or pass through various regions and communities. An example is the Norperuvian Pipeline, operated by Petroperu, which transports production from the jungle to the coast, covering 1,106 kilometres. This peculiarity of the industry brings with it a long list of local actors and stakeholders. Adequate communication management is directly related to the normal development of the companies' operations in the sector, the projects' viability, and the attraction of national and international investors. The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication in social networks and the corporate reputation of companies in the hydrocarbon sector operating in the Loreto region in 2022. To this end, the available literature was reviewed, and a questionnaire was designed based on the dimensions of CSR communication in social networks and the dimensions of corporate reputation. The fieldwork included interviews with communication experts and surveys of oil companies' employees. The results showed that CSR communication in social media and its four dimensions (dialogue between companies and stakeholders, credibility and legitimacy, increased engagement, marketing, and social marketing) carried out by the companies, contributed positively to the reputation of the organizations. The results reaffirm the critical role that CSR management communication through social media plays for the reputation of companies in the oil and gas sector and how a structured communication strategy can positively position companies in their different dimensions of reputation.
