The present investigation is grounded in the scholarly article “Lean Manufacturing Make to Order Production Management Model Based on QRM to Reduce Order Delivery Times in Metalworking SMEs“ (Huayllasco et al., 2021) and the research paper “Lean Manufacturing Make to Order Production Management Model Based on QRM to Reduce Order Delivery Times in Metal-Mechanical SMEs“ (Huayllasco et al., 2022). Both articles were published in the academic repository of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. The significance of metalworking companies is increasing in tandem with the expansion of mining operations. Nevertheless, challenges such as inadequate process standardization and unproductive hours within manufacturing organizations result in inefficiencies in production and postponements in the delivery of finished products. In order to address this concern, the Lean-QRM approach is proposed as a means for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) utilizing production-to-order systems to decrease delivery times. The research centers on optimizing operational processes within the organization's manufacturing division in an effort to improve on-time delivery (OTD). As a result of the evaluation of this initiative by a SME in the metalworking industry of Peru, production efficiency increased by 10%. The time required to complete production cycles was reduced by 19.71%, and the number of orders fulfilled on time each month increased as a consequence.
