This project is the New National School of Dramatic Arts (ENSAD) located in the district of the Historic Center of Lima, in the Plaza Francia sector. It’s developed under the concept of generating atmospheres, scenic spaces and dramatism. It’s located next to a historical monument (Hospicio Bartolomé Manrique) and has several buildings of an architectural character (Republican mansions in Jr. Rufino Torrico and Jr. Camaná, modernist buildings from the 40s inspired by the architecture of 'Le Corbusier 'towards Av. Wilson) so the challenge was to reinterpret its language in a contemporary way so that it fits the immediate environment. As an urban contribution, it’s proposed to connect Plazuela Elguera (located on Av. Wilson with Jr. Quilca) with Plaza Francia through Jr. Rufino Torrico and regenerate the area that currently looks in very bad condition and is very dangerous to walk through this project and create a way of coexistence giving priority to pedestrians. It’s proposed that the first level of the school be permeable, with commercial stores, coffee shops, exhibition galleries and additionally a square has been created inside the project as a meeting place guaranteeing animation in the area.
