Análisis del uso de motion graphics como herramienta narrativa en webtoons del género de terror

Abstract

La presente investigación se centra en analizar el rol narrativo del motion graphic en webtoons del género de terror. Este formato combina diferentes herramientas de animación. Es por ello que se presenta la hipótesis de que la incorporación de motion graphics emplea técnicas visuales de transición y movimiento direccionando el recorrido y enfoque visual, con el propósito de generar ritmo y tensión en las transiciones de momento y aspecto en los webtoons de terror. La metodología planteada consta de un enfoque cualitativo descriptivo, ya que tiene como objetivo analizar el corpus sin alterarlo. Igualmente, se trata de una investigación no experimental documental correlacional, dado que se busca establecer una relación entre dos variables. Es por ello que los principales resultados obtenidos se basan en la simpleza de la composición narrativa y cómo esta logra focalizar la mirada del lector. Además, como la sintaxis visual del género de terror, que mantiene su iconicidad en todo momento, con colaboración de la cinética visual de los motion graphics, logran presentar más dinamismo y captar la atención del espectador. Asimismo, es relevante mencionar la participación del lector y su experiencia emocional, ya que se concluyó que los motion graphics en webtoons de terror buscan generar tensión mediante el conocimiento y la espera de un screamer. Es así que el ritmo generado por las transiciones consigue crear una atmósfera tensa y perceptible por el lector. En la aporta en la creación e impulso de esta sensación, sin ser un elemento que defina completamente la trama.

The present research focuses on analyzing the narrative role of motion graphics in horror genre webtoons. This format combines different animation tools. For this reason, the hypothesis is presented that the incorporation of motion graphics uses visual techniques of transition and movement, directing the path and visual focus, with the purpose of generating rhythm and tension in the transitions of moment and aspect in horror webtoons. The proposed methodology consists of a qualitative descriptive approach, since its objective is to analyze the corpus without altering it. Also, it is a non-experimental documentary correlational research, since it seeks to establish a relationship between two variables. That is why the main results obtained are based on the simplicity of the narrative composition and how it focuses the reader's gaze. Additionally, like the visual syntax of the horror genre, which maintains its iconicity at all times, with the collaboration of the visual kinetics of motion graphics, they manage to present more dynamism and capture the viewer's attention. Likewise, it is relevant to mention the reader's participation and his emotional experience, since it was concluded that motion graphics in horror webtoons seek to generate tension through knowledge and expectation of a screamer. Thus, the rhythm generated by the transitions manages to create a tense atmosphere perceptible by the reader. It contributes to the creation and impulse of this sensation, without being an element that completely defines the plot.
