Background: In Peru and the world, preeclampsia is one of the main causes of maternal morbidity and mortality, for this reason this study aims to analyze nulliparity as a risk factor in its development. Methods: Retrospective cohort study that used INMP pregnant women from the year 2021-2022 as inclusion criteria and also who are registered with the diagnosis according to CIE 10 of multi/nulliparity; and exclusion: Preeclamptic pregnant women who have been diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, kidney diseases and multifetal gestation. This information was obtained from 572 medical records from an emergency and hospitalization database, with prior authorization from the authorities of this hospital. Results: The Nulliparity were significantly associated with an increase in the possibility of more than 3 times of having preeclampsia (PRa: 3.87; 95% I: 2.98-5.04), By each year it decreases 2 % the probability (PRa: 0.98; 95% CI: 0.98-1.01), history of Arterial Hypertension that increase more than 20% of possibility (PRa: 1.82; 95% CI: 1, 50 - 2.20), a family history with a diagnosis of preeclampsia increase more than 2 times the possibility (PRa: 2.00; 95% CI: 1.63- 2.47) and smoking increases in 0.01 % chance of presenting preeclampsia (aPR: 0.10; 95% CI: 0.82-1.29), all of these variables adjusted respectively. Obesity did not prove to be significant Conclusions: Nulliparity is associated as a risk factor for the development of preeclampsia.
