Ayllu is a company dedicated to the sale of organic sorbets and, since it was founded, the processes it manages have been carried out manually. However, the continuous increase in demand for the product has caused the current production system to be insufficient to cover these requirements. A manual packaging implies notable disadvantages, as its success relies on the operator's skill to carry it out properly. Moreover, it entails delays in the process of counting sorbets. These manual activities prolong production times, leading to economic losses. For this reason, in the present work a mechatronic system is developed that performs the classification of straws by the stains that they present on their surface and packages them individually in an automated way using image processing and die-cutting techniques for packaging. In this way, the straw packaging capacity is increased, the time required is reduced, the process is automated and only the straws that do not have stains on their surface are packaged. The final product is the design of a machine with modular components, which classifies the straws according to the stains they have using image processing algorithms, discarding the straws that have stains so that they are not packaged; and later packages them in individual paper bags.
