In the current scenario of the competitive global market, efficiency in its processes has become a necessity for many companies to achieve its desired objectives and meet the demands of a challenges global market. In the sector of metalworking companies that work at a consumer request, the compliance with the terms of the delivery and deadlines, it has become a common problem. Therefore, and in this context, it is essential to implement the concepts of 'lean' to produce improvements in increasing productivity and reducing delivery times, which ultimately results in better quality with the lowest possible cost for the company. The main target of this article is to examine an existing system of the metalworking industry and to improve its productivity using lean tools to reduce delivery times. The five SS, is used to organize spaces, safe, and uncluttered. The distribution of plant is focus on putting everything to organize or reorganize the distribution of the workspace to reduce the operator's extra motion and improve the flow of the process of productivity. Also, visual control in lean brings to focus the process and drives improvements allowing quick recognition to visually alert problems in the production. Likewise, to validate the improvement and techniques of the distribution in its operation or production areas, a pilot will be use. In this way, it seeks to promote companies in the metalworking industry to consider applying the use of this article as a model to solve its problems related to production and delivery times.
