This research work focuses on the analysis of the printed covers of the newspaper “El Comercio“ with respect to the second electoral round of the 2021 presidential elections. Taking into account that the media are highly relevant in terms of perception and formation From the opinion of the citizens, it is extremely important to analyze the characteristics of the covers that addressed such an important electoral process for the country, by one of the most influential newspapers in Peru. The objectives of this research will be to determine the characteristics of the headlines of the printed covers of the newspaper “El Comercio” in relation to the second round of the 2021 presidential elections and to determine the characteristics of the graphic resources of the printed covers of the newspaper. “El Comercio” in relation to the second round of the 2021 presidential elections. In this sense, the methodology used will be a type of descriptive research, a descriptive level of research and a non-experimental research design. Of the 55 covers published between April 12 and June 4, 2021, a sample of 20 will be taken, as these are the ones related to the two candidates who faced each other in the second round of the presidential elections of that year. The value of this study is not only to determine whether there was a political bias at the time of the preparation of the covers studied, but also to understand the influence that these may have had on the formation of public opinion.
