In the context of the current digital revolution, financial institutions are propelled to adapt to new demands for efficiency and competitiveness. The Central Bank of the Andes has been a trusted user of its mainframe system for years, but present realities pose significant financial and technological challenges. The operation and high maintenance cost of the mainframe, as well as the expenditure in MIPS resources (millions of instructions per second), have become an unsustainable burden. A critical area that requires immediate attention is the management of payment solutions. With the bank's growing customer base, transacting large volumes of data related to payment promises has become a prohibitive expense on the mainframe. However, the cloud offers a scalable and cost-effective solution to address this challenge. This sufficiency project focuses on a strategic migration: moving the section of the mainframe that consumes a significant amount of MIPS to the cloud. A close examination will be carried out on how this technological transformation will not only reduce operational costs but also position Central Bank of the Andes optimally to meet the increasing demands of its customers in an increasingly digital financial environment. The migration has been successfully completed, achieving a significant improvement in operational efficiency, carrying out the entire transaction process in a maximum of 17 minutes and a notable 45% reduction in costs. This transformation has strategically strengthened our position in the competitive Peruvian banking industry.
