The following research consists of a protection and social welfare project for minors who are abandoned or at social risk in the city of Trujillo, in the department of La Libertad, Peru, where the number of cases exceeds the capacity of the few existing centers, which also do not have a good infrastructure. The purpose of the Residential Shelter Center is to house these children and adolescents affected by orphanhood, exploitation, extreme poverty or their own family environment, in order to provide them with the security, care and comprehensive attention they need. The purpose of this is to seek the adoption, family reintegration or social reinsertion of the minor through a series of measures appropriate to the profile of each one that allow promoting the development of their capabilities and social skills to strengthen family ties and social relationships. In this way, the proposal offers the infrastructure, services and equipment appropriate to the needs of this vulnerable sector of the population so that they can carry out various activities and educational dynamics through spaces designed under certain architectural criteria. In addition, this type of project raises awareness among the population about a reality that exists throughout the country and that, if not given due importance, will affect future generations and, therefore, society.
