The construction sector is a thriving and growing industry. This industry is very competitive and one of the most sensitive to the price of products and services. For this reason, companies that are within this sector must have the best engineering practices not only in the specialty they develop but also in the way they execute their projects. Along with the growth of the industry, many contracting companies are also born, which are the force that develop specialties in construction activity, that is, the general contractor or construction company, in general only developing the main work. The rest of the finishes and specialties are developed by the subcontractors. The company taken in this study is a fire protection systems contractor for which a decrease in its projected operational profitability is constantly observed. In this work, the root cause of the main problems will be analyzed, which is the poor operational management that is generating loss of projected profitability. The analyzes carried out on the most important economic losses include: Material management (missing or surplus), economic losses due to excess man hours due to lack of clearance of the work site, non-conformities and reprocessing, and economic losses due to damage to the client's facilities. . Of which we will show their economic impact analyzed quantitatively, all with the aim of improving their competitiveness and improving the operational result of each project. Resulting in an efficiency increase of 21%, reaching 90.8%.
