This study focuses on analyzing entrepreneurial development in Chile by assessing the income levels of Chilean ventures. Our main hypothesis is that exporting plays a key role inpredicting venture growth in Chile. To address this question, we start from the use of a general equilibrium model designed for small economies, which was developed by Hausmann and Rodrik in 2003. Furthermore, in the framework of our research, the importance of promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in Chile is emphasized, as well as the need to diversify productive economic structures in the framework of the new entrepreneurial knowledge economy. Variables influencing the success of entrepreneurship, such as economic sector, personnel size and financing are explored, proposing public policy measures such as trade protection and subsidies for investment and export. In relation to exporting, our findings indicate that the tertiary economic sector is the most likely to engage in export activities, while the primary and secondary sectors are less likely to do so. In addition, we have identified that the amount of financing available also exerts a significant influence on the likelihood of firms embarking on export activities, with greater financial backing being associated with a higher probability of engaging in such activities. In summary, our paper underscores the crucial relevance of exporting as an essential predictor of venture development in Chile.
