This thesis arises from the citizens’ need for more public spaces near them. In the case of the La Victoria district, due to the increasing commercialization, spaces like Parque Cánepa were concessioned and are now just a memory, turning into a concrete slab. The main objective of this professional sufficiency work is to redesign Centro Comercial Parque Cánepa as a Public and Commercial Space. The specific objectives include generating a visual and spatial connection between the spaces, complementing it with squares for rest and recreation activities, and improving the flow in the space by creating nodes. This work was developed in different stages: Context and Container Analysis, Diagnosis, User and Function Analysis, Design Strategy Proposal, Existing Conditions Survey, Master Plan Proposal, Sector Details, and Visuals. Through the proposed strategies, it was suggested to connect the environments by opening voids, implementing equipped squares to serve as both rest and recreation areas and nodes capable of improving the flow of the area. Additionally, the food court was redesigned and relocated to offer a spacious and comfortable environment. Thus, this project represents an opportunity to return to the residents of La Victoria a space that was previously purely public.
