In the field of accounting, this Professional Proficiency Work (PPW) addresses the tax validity of costs and expenses and their impact on the determination of payable taxes. This study aims to inform about the importance of the correct determination of costs and expenses, and their subsequent deduction for tax purposes of micro and small businesses (MSEs). This research work is divided into three chapters. In the first, the problem of the chosen company is presented in relation to the tax deduction through the issuance of liquidation sales. In the second chapter, the theoretical framework is developed, the background of the study is presented and the chosen problem is justified. In the last chapter, the solutions and recommendations derived from the research are analyzed. This work is qualitative, thus specifically, it is a case study. For its development, information was collected with the support of accountants and tax advisors. The results and analysis obtained highlight the importance of issuing payment receipts through liquidation sales, since they allow companies to access tax credits through withholdings, thus contributing to a better understanding of the tax implications and opportunities that this presents for companies.
