This Professional Sufficiency York (PSW) focuses on improving communication operations in the Retention department of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) to prevent student dropout. UPC is a renowned educational institution that offers a variety of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. The first chapter provides an overview of the university and delves into the issue of student dropout. The second chapter identifies strategic alternatives to address this problem and examines how it affects different departments. Three solution alternatives are proposed. In the third chapter, the “Centralization of data in a loyalty system with automatic messages“ alternative is chosen, and this choice is justified. It is anticipated that this alternative will reduce the dropout rate in Undergraduate and EPE programs, equivalent to an additional 1,700 students and S/8,500,000.00 in additional revenue in a single intake. Additionally, it will improve operational efficiency and the administrative capacity of the university while reducing long-term costs. The research offers valuable lessons that can be applied in similar situations in the future. The university currently faces a dropout rate of 34.3% in the EPE mode and 13.9% in the Undergraduate mode. The analysis reveals bottlenecks in the student follow-up process, which are addressed by speeding up communication to reduce dropout. In summary, this PSW focuses on improving communication and student retention at UPC, proposing a solution that promises to reduce dropout, increase revenue, and enhance operational and administrative efficiency within the institution.
