The textile sector has been increasing its participation in the national economy by adapting alternative strategies and methodologies to the traditional ones, so that an increase of 2.37% of GDP has been observed since the last decade. However, said growth is mitigated by one of the main problems that afflicts the sector, non-compliance with production orders, generated by deficiencies in work planning and operational processes. This leads to generating not only economic losses, but also a substantial percentage of the market due to back orders due to the impossibility of fulfilling. Given this, great efforts have been made to adopt tools that can reduce this impact on production, one of them being Lean Manufacturing, whose effectiveness lies in eliminating waste from processes and improving the general functioning of the production chain. That is why this research article focuses on implementing the combined use of the standardization of the work method and the 5S, in order to create a model that allows optimizing management and implementing conditions of operational excellence that reduce the main problem. The implementation of the improvement model brought with it the increase in the number of orders served by 2.5 orders and the reduction of the time used for the elaboration of each production order by 44.62%, for which it is concluded that the use of Lean Manufacturing in the sector is viable.
