This study evaluates different structural reinforcement for beams and slabs in terms of resistance and building time efficiency. This project is a dwelling, located in San Martin de Porres district, which is needed to turn into a warehouse; according to building regulations it requires the modernization of design. This research uses ETABS to assay the structure of beams and slabs. All the requirements respond to E.020 – Loads and E.030 earthquake resistance recommendations from the National Building Regulation. We also reviewed the strengthening structures regulations with carbon fiber reinforced polymers (ACI 440.2R-17). After determinating beams and slabs to strength, we elaborate the study of the carbon fiber reinforcement. In conclusion carbon fiber for structure strengthening is the best choise in terms resistance and building time efficiency despite its elevated costs.
