This research focused on a comprehensive assessment of the interactions between subsurface water and the foundation structures of the Chucuito housing complex in Cercado del Callao. The overall objective focused on identifying the risks and challenges associated with this interaction and proposing mitigation and management strategies to ensure the integrity and durability of the structures. Through detailed hydrogeological studies, we were able to characterize the hydrological properties of the subsoil, including the depth of the water table in the study area. The results of this investigation revealed that both the wellpoint and deepwell systems proved to be viable, both from a technical and economic perspective, to address the challenges posed by subsurface water in the Chucuito foundations. These findings acquire significant relevance in the context of civil engineering by highlighting the need to consider strategies tailored to project-specific conditions and economic preferences. This approach is positioned as fundamental to improve engineering practices and ensure the sustainability of structures in the subsurface water context.
