This research work focuses on improving the availability of the pasta production line of a company widely recognized nationally. In the first chapter, a contextualization of the sector in which the company operates is provided and a theoretical framework is presented that will serve as a basis for analyzing and addressing the issue of availability on the production line. The second chapter focuses on identifying the main problem. In this sense, it is highlighted that production line 3 has a yield rate of 51%, which implies that approximately 648 tons of pasta per month cannot be marketed due to various reasons, with breakdowns in the production line being the most significant factor. In the third chapter, the solution proposal is presented. Here, the two pillars of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) that will be implemented are described in detail: planned maintenance and autonomous maintenance. The purpose of this proposal is to increase current availability from 74% to 85%, which would result in a considerable improvement in production capacity and, ultimately, the successful commercialization of a greater quantity of pasta. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the technical and economic validation of the project. The results reveal that the project is financially profitable, with an internal rate of return of 19%. In addition, a significant increase in production line availability is expected, reaching 85%, which has a positive impact on the company's ability to meet market demand and increase its profitability.
