The present professional sufficiency work encompasses the issue of the low fuel efficiency of customer 9 in a company dedicated to the freight transport industry and how a solution is provided through the conversion of engineering tools. Information from 2022 and 2023 is being considered, as well as the most up-to-date literature on methodologies and tools in industrial engineering. In the first chapter, it explains the background related to the industry in which the company operates and the definitions of tools and methodologies used throughout this work. It also substantiates the importance of the main issue and how it affects the company. In the second chapter, it describes the existing problems in maintenance management and Service Management, Monitoring, and Control. It also presents the technical gap and the causes related to low fuel efficiency in the light vehicle fleet. In the third chapter, solutions are presented through the implementation of planned maintenance and the Clarke & Wright method combined with standardization to establish new indicators. Finally, in the fourth chapter, the implementation is validated, and an economic validation is performed, concluding on the feasibility of the improvement model.
