The present investigation is developed because currently to carry out the construction of a ceiling slab, too many processes need to be followed, this can be noticed in the formwork and concrete pouring items. Due to this, the construction systems that use prestressed joists and the one that uses pre-slabs were evaluated, all based on a real case, the Aliaga Garden multifamily building. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the use of prestressed preslabs and joists with respect to cost and time for the aforementioned case. Based on this study, the first result is obtained that the use of prestressed joists on floor 2 has a direct cost of 75,296.03 soles and 55,334.81 soles with the use of prestressed slabs for floor 3. As a second result, it is obtained that the construction of floor 2 with the use of prestressed joists has an execution time of 5.5 days, while using the pre-slabs on floor 3, there is only 3 days. The research concludes that the technique that uses pre-slabs has a faster procedure and with fewer resources for its execution with respect to the use of prestressed joists, in addition, the cost using pre-slabs represents a saving of 26.51% in cost and 45.45% in terms of time.
