The main objective of this thesis is to analyze and structurally evaluate an existing hotel designed with regulations E.030 1977 in order to satisfy the needs of a possible increase in typical floors since over the years there will be a market need to require more rooms to receive more clients and in the face of this new scenario, the hotel will need to be reinforced after the analysis. Knowing that this is a reinforced concrete structural system built in 1979, it will be necessary to reinforce it to comply with the requirements of the new earthquake-resistant regulations and respond effectively to the increase in loads. For this reason, traditional alternatives for structural reinforcement are proposed. For this purpose, the structural reinforcement of a reinforced concrete hotel designed to be 5 stories high is proposed, opting for two types of structural reinforcement to analyze and compare the bearing capacity of the structure, construction time, reinforcement costs and the structural complexity. On the one hand, we consider cladding in the aforementioned structural elements, which consists of applying an additional coating or layer of structural material on an existing structure to improve its resistance and load capacity. Also, the implementation of reinforced concrete plates has been considered that would help stiffen the structure and whose presence is mandatory with the current standard. Finally, once the structural analysis is completed considering the new types of reinforcement that contemplate an optimal scope in terms of execution time and cost, it is expected to comply with the updated requirements to the current standard E.030 2018.
