In recent years, the pharmaceutical sector in Peru has experienced some changes and improvements. Many of companies dedicated to the distribution of pharmaceutical products have been approved and accredited to be able to work in the country by the Health Ministry and the General Direction of Medicines, Supplies and Drugs. The company to work with is dedicated only to purchase and sale pharmaceutical products, so they have a 80 m2 warehouse where they store the products and the average value of the merchandise is around $. 126 000 per year. The associated reasons with this non-compliance problem are the presence of expired products, delays in delivery times, etc. The causes of the origin of the problem are the poor staff training and the lack of order and purchase formats. The study proposes an improvement model through the implementation of Lean Logistics tools, such as Six Sigma, VSM, Supply Chain Management, a proper supplier management and an inventory rotation to prevent the expiration of products.
