The present study was developed in a company of the metal-mechanic industry dedicated to the manufacture of electrical equipment for the mining sector. Of the product portfolio offered, the LV Motor Control Centers (MCC-BT), which are manufactured in a Make to Order (MTO) environment, have generated an overrun of $598,465 for the company, which represents 4.2% of the turnover ($14,174,112). In this regard, an improvement proposal has been developed using Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce the delay in the delivery of MCC-BT; to this end, an analysis of the problem, reasons and root causes was made, and the solution tools were defined. From this, it was determined to implement Kaizen to reduce the delay in the design, originated by the non-conformities of the engineering design and the changes in the customer's requirement; Poka Yoke to reduce the delay in the purchases originated by the defects in the specifications of the purchase order; and Standardized Work to eliminate the reprocesses due to defects in the connection and assembly of cables.
