The present research demonstrates the improvement of processes in the special manufacturing area with the aim of increasing machine availability at Manufacturas Industriales Mendoza S.A, hereafter referred to as MIMSA. This is achieved through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with the objective of proposing various competitive advantages that enhance efficiency in delivery times and enable competition in both price and product quality. The methodology of TPM focuses on assessing different challenges within the production plant, as these issues have an immediate impact on the value chain of the chosen product for study. Therefore, it allows for the development of TPM pillars in conjunction with the use of the 5S tool. Subsequently, the feasibility of the tool implementation project is verified. This work shows the problems that the company had and that as a consequence delayed production delivery times and the advantages that were had when implementing a tool called total productive maintenance (TPM). Machine failures were improved, waste and defective products were reduced through its application in order to prevent 100% of maintenance from being corrective. Therefore, the objective is to increase sales by 10% through the application of TPM. Finally, compliance with production deliveries is improved.
