In Peru, the lack of connectivity in rural areas has historically been a challenge due to the rugged terrain and other natural obstacles that make it difficult to expand telecommunications networks. These obstacles, such as dense vegetation, rough topography, and lack of road infrastructure, have left different regions isolated from the terrestrial telecommunications network. Communication is mainly through satellite connections. More than 70% of rural communities do not have mobile services, which affects communities with lower income levels, which has a negative impact on the growth and development of these populations. This study addresses this challenge by designing a last-mile transport link for the mobile station in Huayllabamba, Cuzco. This project focuses on overcoming line-of-sight obstructions caused by the region's unique geographical conditions. The goal is to provide an efficient technological solution that will improve connectivity in this rural area, where communication infrastructure is limited and geographic obstacles represent a significant challenge. This work has been developed in collaboration with IPT (Internet for All), an organization committed to expanding telecommunications infrastructure in rural areas of Peru. The research aims to contribute to Internet access in rural areas of Peru and, therefore, to the development of these communities.
