In Peru, each year witnesses an increasing number of reinforced concrete construction projects, progressively reaching greater heights. Unfortunately, this upward trend is paralleled by a rising incidence of accidents and structural collapses during construction, with approximately 50% of such incidents occurring within the construction phase, often without thorough investigation of the root causes. Consequently, there arises a pressing need for research endeavors aimed at comprehensively examining the influence of the loads involved in the construction process, which may frequently surpass those considered for service conditions. The current study aims to conduct a rigorous comparative analysis between conventional structural assessment methodologies and a construction process-based assessment of horizontal structural components, namely, beams and slabs, within a 20-story building. To facilitate this analysis, the software Etabs will be employed for structural modeling. The research will encompass a detailed scrutiny and subsequent comparison of internal forces (moments and shears) within both scenarios, presented through graphical representations and tabular data. All these efforts are undertaken with the ultimate goal of elevating construction safety standards, enhancing the performance of the structure under service conditions, and prolonging the overall structural lifespan.
