The new provisions for the adoption and use of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology in the phases of the investment cycle of public infrastructure projects, proposed by the state as a political measure of the National Competitiveness and Productivity Plan (PNCP) to deal with Due to the modernization and digitization gaps in project information management, they force companies to incorporate the BIM methodology into their management processes, mainly small and medium-sized executing companies need to implement from scratch and modify their current processes to align to the new requirements established in the Peru BIM Plan.. The objective of this study is to propose a guide document for information management using the BIM methodology in public investment projects, explaining to the reader about the main BIM deliverables requested by entities as part of their requirements in the bidding processes, as well as such as the activities and processes associated with information management within a collaborative work environment in the early stages of a project, therefore, this guide is directly addressed to those small and medium-sized companies that do not have experience incorporating the BIM methodology into their processes. The proposed guide was prepared based on the international information management criteria and standards ISO 19650-1:2018 and ISO 19650-2:2018, documents that were also taken as the basis for the preparation of the BIM Peru Plan. Therefore, in the results of the present investigation it is proposed to explain and develop the following: a. Information requirements, organizational structure, delivery milestones, processes and technologies in a collaborative environment. b. Information generation, transfer and review processes incorporating the BIM methodology during the process of preparing technical files. c. Comparison of the information generation, transfer and review processes in a Common Data Environment (ECD) and in a traditional system.
