This report presents the results of the improvements implemented in a waste material movement Project on a mine located in the south of Peru by a contractor, through the application of the Kaizen methodology. These improvements were driven by the necessity of achieve more production during the loading and haulage processes from 2020 to 2023, mainly explained by higher operating costs caused by COVID-19 pandemic, higher fuel and by-product cost, and higher metal prices. This paper is divided into 4 chapters. The first Chapter outlines the company background and a general scenario of the Peruvian mining market and mining contractors as well as the types of industrial engineering tools used for this analysis which will be instrumental in reaching a diagnose and problem solution. The second Chapter presents the identified problem and potential causes which affect equipment performance and project estimate costs. Chapter 3 presents the results obtained through these implemented measures and provides a ROI analysis for the implemented solution, which was positive for the Company.
