The present research entitled “Proposal of a Work Plan to improve the performance of heavy equipment in earthmoving jobs in reservoir works in Peru applying the Lean Construction philosophy“ aims to reduce the cost of using heavy machinery and optimize the execution time of activities in reservoir works using Lean Construction tools. The project study has an explanatory research level and a documentary research design. Three (3) completed reservoir works were used for the study, which help to explain the current process flows used on site. Then, an improved process flow was made and a work plan was developed in order to increase the performance in the earthwork items, based on Lean tools. Therefore, the validation of the plan is done through expert judgment, where expert engineers, with the required experience, reviewed the proposed work plan and through a specific survey, determine whether the improvement plan helps to improve the performance and management of machinery, reducing execution times and reducing and mitigating cost overruns that occur in reservoir works.
