Lima faces a serious problem, which is road safety. This problem affects pedestrians, drivers, cyclists and others involved in the road they travel on. Among the problems that cause road insecurity is a lack of road education, but a lack of signage and little or no maintenance of roads and sidewalks in Lima has also been observed. Thus, the relevance in the development of this thesis is based on taking into account a problem that addresses the safety of all Lima residents. On the other hand, among the benefits of road safety, apart from a reduction in traffic accidents and injury and mortality rates, there is a reduction in the economic burden on families, associated with medical expenses and loss of productivity due to of deaths or disability of the injured (World Health Organization, 2022). In this way, the implementation of low-cost engineering measures is proposed at a specific point called: black point, thus the measures proposed for this point will be verified through the modeling of a software that will estimate the improvement of road safety with the application of the proposed measures. In conclusion, the research seeks to improve road safety through indicators such as: vehicle flow, traffic lights and the level of service. All this, for the benefit of the Lima population who travel through that area and feel that they are using a safer route.
